Well picked the bike up on the 2nd instead, due to work commitments. Unfortunately i had to go back to work so no real playtime to test the bike out properly. Picked it up in London then a quick ride back to bristol along the M4 (boring) far too straight.
Once i got off the motorway managed to get in a few corners etc before getting back to the office. JESUS what a bike.. so light and nimble for a thou'. Fantastic into corners so much better than the 675 i just got rid of. It feels more planted like it was made to go round corners.
Have commuted to work on it for the last 2 days just to get on it!! Im fitting the Austin racing slip on on saturday and hopefully taking her out for a proper ride ( weather permitting)
I was told to take it easy till i get up to 600 miles and first service, not above 6000 revs ish, is this really necessary ??

AH the running in question!!!
there is an article somewhere on this site that states that you dont have to run a bike in and just welly it from new, then change oil n filter after 60 miles.
i once bought a gsxr suzuki and followed this method and never had any probs
bmw , however have just put a ride in map onto every new 1000rr to stop them going over 6k revs for the first 600 miles!!!
this will then be removed at service!!
ytalk about nanny state!!
someone on here has done it with their rsv4 but cant remember who , think its erwin
bloody old age lol

Meeting a mate near newbury at the weekend so by the time i've done that and then including the 120 miles to take the bike back to London that will be the 600 miles done anyway. Then i'll find out what she's really like !!!

Get ready to grin, you are gonna end up with face ache . The more you ride th V4 the more you want to be on it, you just think about going round a corner and the the bike does the rest. Only down side is fuel ecconomy, in track mode I can't get 100 miles from a tank including reserve. Have had reserve light on as low as 70 miles from fill up but if that is the only downside who cares
