Finally, pictures of the RSV4-R!

We already spoke about it in our previous news, but several online magazines have received official pictures of the RSV4-R, the "budget" version of the RSV4 Factory:

The new Aprilia RSV4-R in white

Aprilia has chosen the revamped Imola Circuit in Italy, the twelfth round of the FIM Superbike World Championship - which takes place there this weekend - to unveil the R version of their RSV4 to the general public.

The RSV4-R is a essentially a base model of the ultra-exotic RSV4, cutting costs by using less-expensive parts - including the suspension - which will no longer be fully-adjustable Ohlins front and rear. It is also rumoured to lose the carbon fibre fairing and ultra lightweight wheels and the Brembo brakes will be standard radial items and not the WSB-mimicking monoblocs on the RSV4 Factory.

I just saw WSB Races. Good thing I watched them before I read this. Otherwise you would have ruined it for me. Its great to see Biaggi up there. Especially on the Aprilia. It took him a while. But its good. Its a brand new bike, like the R1, and thats pleasing. Now if the price is right, Ill be all set.

idejducman, you don't see the Aprilia running with Haga, Fabrizio and Spies?  Have you been watching the same series as everyone else?  Two podiums this weekend, two podiums last weekend (with two different riders).

I am definately going to wait for the official prices. I heard less than that as well, but the magazines are stating/speculating 15,000 GBP which roughly translates into 23,000 USD. Lets hope that this model is between 16,000 and 18,000 USD. I would purchase it for that.  Otherwise, the 1198S is looking better and better.  It would be dissapointing to see a high price on a bike we have waited so long for.

Hey idejducman,

are you sure about those prices? Cause I heard a price less than that. Less than the Factory, what should be normal since the R has less nice components than the Factory. I would wait on the real prices and not believing the dealers words :).

The wait is yet to be over, but is it worth it? The bike looks awesome. I like the new colors but not the changes made. No Ohlins? Alot of people were counting on two versions, one being around 21,000 USD and the other around 16,000 USD. Dealers here even thought that the price would be comparable to that of the Ducatis 1198 bikes. But now the price seem's to be 23,000 USD. That's alot compared to the Ducati 1198S version which has the suspension and goodies' you would expect. Also, you don't see the Aprilia running with Haga, Fabrizio or even Spies for that matter. It is unfortunate now with the price, because my heart was set on the RSV4. Looks like Ill be considering another Ducati. Change the price and Ill change my mind.
